Itinerary
Day One: Marrakech
Whatever time of your arrival, day or night, a member of our team is welcoming you to the Marrakesh Menara Airport. Or if necessary, to another airport: Agadir, Casablanca.
Day Two: Marrakech – Aït Ourir Taddert – Tizi n’Tichka – Glaoui Kasbah – Assif Ounila Valley – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate
We leave in a 4X4 car to 8:30 towards Ait Ourir then the High Atlas mountains, we cross the Tichka pass the highest road pass in Morocco 2260 m, and we go down to the Telouat Valley to visit Glaoui Kasbah in ruins until 2004 lunch at a local restaurant, then continue with the famous track of Ait Ben Haddou to Anemiter, beautiful valley of Ounila, beautiful villages, gorges and troglodytes (walking optional) and then visit the kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, 32 km from Ouarzazate, famous by internationally renowned film shoots ‘Hollywood of Morocco’, night in Ouarzazate.
Day Three: Ouarzazate – Taourirt – Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs – Dades Gorge – Kasbah of Amerhidl – Skoura Oasis – El Klâa des Mgouna – Aït Youl
Breakfast at 8H, drive towards the Skoura palm grove valley south of the High Atlas 4000m M’goun offers a grand view of the mountains especially if M’goun are snowy in winter. Possible walking in the Valley of Roses is needed between Hdida, Tiaalouite and Boutaghrar, our chef will prepare us lunch at the edge of the oud M’goun near Boutaghrar and we continue to Boumalne Dades, beautiful Dades Valley with its fortresses, and again the valley with its terraced crops, overnight at the hotel in the heart of the Dades Gorge.
Day Four: Aït Youl – Aït Arbi – Aït Oufi – Msemrir – Tizgui n’Ouadda Valley – Source Des Poissons Sacrées – Tinerhir
We discover a landscape of spectacular mountains while leaving the Dades valley and its magnificent gorges, to Msemrir by several beautiful Berber villages, a very rough road after Msemrir and mountain scenery is magnificent but the car will often be faced with crossings dry rivers, rocky, then we cross a pass of 2700 m, which takes us to Tamtatoucht. Possibility of walking 1-2H, then down to the beautiful Todra Gorge, magnificent cliffs for lovers of climbing palm of Todra, with fortified villages, lunch and continuation to Tinghir Tagdilte night with the Berber inhabitants.
Day Five: Tinerhir – Tinejdad Valley – El Jorf – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga
We leave this Berber family in the village of Tagdilte 1600 m, destination to the Col de Tazazert (80km track), 2300m, that pass to cross the massif of Saghro, beautiful scenery, rocky peaks of BAB N ‘ ALI, Ousdidene Valley and Nkob and then the Draa Valley, with its beautiful palm grove of 200 km long, and its beautiful fortified villages, midday lunch in Zagora door of the desert, then on to the dunes of Mhamid, possibility of walking on the sand around the Inn. Night and dinner.
Day Six: Merzouga – Rissani – Zaouia of Moulay Ali Cherif – Ksar Akhbar – Tikkert n’Ouchchane – Aït Sâadane – Zagora
Obviously this will be the longest day on the one hand the state of the road is harder, much track (taken by Paris-Dakar), 150 km from Mhamid to Foum Zguide, great desert track, this is the adventure in all its forms, provide enough water to drink from Zagora, we cross the Draa Valley from north to south by 4×4 and discover the famous military village of Mhamid, then follow the dunes and the Oum Lâalag oasis called Sacred Oasis, a walk on dunes Chegaga when the driver, cook prepares lunch, then visit Lake Iriki, a huge empty tray and if it rains it is not at all feasible 4×4, then go out on Foum Zeguide and several villages and oases of the Anti-Atlas to the quiet city Tazenakht countries Safran and Rugs, night at the hotel, dinner in a nearby local restaurant.
Day Seven: Zagora – Marrakec
Day 7 will take you from Zagora to Marrakech. You’ll travel northwards through the Draa Valley, to the blood-red village of Agdz before arriving back in Marrakech.Installation at the hotel. Very uncrowded mountain road.
Day Eight: Marrakech
If your departure time allows, free tour of historic gardens and monuments of the red city (palace / museum / Koranic school / Koutoubia Mosque / Saadian Tombs).
